The ultimate Ventrilo module for Joomla/Mambo.

mh2Ventrilo Module version 1.0

Backend Features:
• Configurable Ventrilo connection information
• Display Ventrilo in a familiar look with extended information
• No CSS to modify, font face, size and all colors are configurable
• Create your own Icon set or use our default set

Please note:
This program makes use of the ventrilo_status executable.
To insure proper operation, this file will need to be chmodded
to at least 744.

Some web hosts may not have the proper UDP port initially open in
their firewall settings; if this is the case, and your ventrilo
server is showing offline: you will have to request the UDP outbound
port be allowed past their firewall.

Hello
i was installed the Ventrilo Modul but the Modul is not run.
The Modul always shows "The Vetrilo Chat is offline" but my Ventrilo is always Online.
What must be put down exactly in the settings ? for example the Server Settings.?
I have already done remaining settings.
It would be nice if fast help could agree.
Many Thanks
Charly

It seems that everything is ok, the reason that you are having this problem is because your web host does not allow for UDP connections to your port.

Please ask your web host to open a UDP outbound connection for port 3784.

Once that is done your problem should clear up.

So alrighty - I have a question. Smiley

My guilds webpage is hosted through www.godaddy.com - they will not open the port 3784 as it is running on a shared hosting setup. (Would need to either host the page myself - or pay ALOT more to have a dedicated host.) BUT - being that I'm sure most gamers/guild pages do not run this way - is there any other way around this to get this module working?

A lot of companies feel that there are major security risks associated with opening an outgoing port, I do not really understand it but each company has to maintain their own systems.  I have been in contact with Go Daddy and they do seem pretty unwilling to bend.  In lieu of that, I have a hosting company that I work with that has some pretty phenomenal pricing that can meet your needs.  I am attaching the link for you (and everyone else)

Once I installed the mod I get a "Zend Optimizer not installed

This file was encoded by the Zend Encoder / Zend SafeGuard Suite"

I don't know what to make of this??

What version of Zend do I download and what do I do with it? Does it go on the ftp or somewhere else?

Zend optimizer is a free installable product.  Below is a link for installation, if you do not have access -- you would need to contact your hosting provider to perform the installation for you.

I need some help getting this to work on Joomla1.5.

When I install it from the install manager, it doesn't setup the directories correctly it appears. I get errors when trying to load my web page.  I moved some files around in the mod_mh2ventrilo directory and made the errors go away, but all I see is the title and nothing else.

Something is obviously not right.  Can you help out?  I could have corrected it if I were able to see the php files, but they were encoded so I'm at a loss now.

Dropping you a PM with vent info, I'm Caspion on vent.

Seems that the database was corrupted --- fixed and re-uploaded everything.
