Hey there Mick... Nice support on the site. Smiley  One thing I noticed is that, for some reason, Firefox didn't display the letters to register, I had to use IE (which is an unusual circumstance! LOL).

Anyway I am attempting to use the TS mod.  I used your "form letter" to the last person (using my IP & port) and my host (Host Gator) said they opened the port but I'm still getting the offline message.

The TS server is ts21.gameservers.com, port 8806 and I used another site that determines the TCP port and it reported the default 51234.  The Joomla site is at http://www.ut3online.com.  I also tried entering the IP address that returned from a ping (8.9.6.26) as the Teamspeak Server Address in the module but neither seem to resolve the issue.  Is there something special I need to do with the Server WebPost PostUrl inside of the TS server admin area?  I had it pointing to http://www.ut3online.com and I tried blank but neither worked.

Thanks for any help and the great tool!

Just for reference, here's the message I sent:

Quote
Could you please open port 51235 for outbound TCP connections for my ut3online.com domain? I will be using this to query my Teamspeak server.

If you are still concerned about security, can you please at least open the ability to connect to 8.9.6.26 (ts21.gameservers.com) TCP on port 51235?

Edit:

N/M I'm a moron! LOL I submitted the 51235 and didn't change it to 51234 and took the post for me to realize that. heh  I'll ask for 51234.

It's working... my only thing.. heh  I have no problem supporting people who do their work with linking (I host 2 radio stations, one I'm doing for charity and the other is a Vietnam based station for vets and free stuff like the UT3 server).  Can I donate something to get rid of the header graphic?  I know I could probably remove the code but that's not cool.

I don't mind the footer part of where the script comes from but throwing out the graphic kind of detracts from a site when it doesn't fit well and I'm going to revamp the site this week to make it a even more UT like.  You have the footer with the link (that's completely cool) but I'm anal about things like inserting graphics. heh

Thanks for a great script. Smiley

I am glad that you got it figured out.  Donations are always appreciated and if made, I can remove the footer by request.  In the back end of the module is a paypal donate button.

Just an FYI, I have made it so the top graphic is configurable to the end user's needs.  It can be turned off or changed by replacing the file at:
site/modules/mod_mh2teamspeak/images/mh2_client_logo.gif

Cool!  Thanks for a great product and the support.  Sorry if that didn't come off nice, I tried to make sure I didn't sound mean or anything and removing the image worked great, I have no intention of removing the footer (even with a donation)...you did a great job and deserve the credit, I just didn't want the header graphic. heh  Smiley  If the TS server starts moving along and I don't kill it (I hope it does, the game server is finally starting to), I'll drop something your way.

It's rare to see someone put the time into questions and working on modifications (as I've read in other forums) for users and be completely open to it. Smiley

You did not come across negative at all!  I am glad that my product is getting out there and people are using it.  I have spent a long time trying to get my sites to look the way I want and finally gave up looking for items to fit my needs and started writing my own.

I like having the full control in the back end to make things look the way I want on the front -- so why not give the same to everyone else!

Thank you for the kind comments -- I am glad that I am coming across the way I wish to!

Next cool thing to hit should be the random graphics -- got some more modifications to make to it once I get done with a big project, but I think people will go ga ga over it!

Enjoy!

Hi Mick,

I have wrote in this thread because most of it deals with my same problem.  The module keeps saying server off line.

I run the ts server on a computer all by itself.

As described by the others in this forum, all my settings are the norm of ts, except for the ip of course.

I have a router, and all ports have been correctly opened, and set, and numbers confirmed.

The only thing I haven't done was email my service provider........I can't possible see why they would have anything to do with this as I have the ability to open and close ports on my router.

Any chance I'm missing something else that I may have overlooked?  The installation was perfect the first time, all info has been entered on the edit module page and numbers have been confirmed, yet it still says server off-line when it is on-line.

Would appreciate any suggestions. (Joomla 1.0.12)

If the TS is located on your a machine behind a router there are a few checks:
In the server.ini file there is a line
  TCPQueryPort=xxxxx

You will need to create TCP port forwarding in your router configuration for that port to the IP of the machine that TS is running on.

That should be all that is necessary.  If that does not work, please forward me the IP/Port and I can check a couple of things from here.

As this problem became more complicated, we continued through email, then Teamspeak.

I wish to express my thanks to Mick for spending such an amount of time on solving the issues with port numbers and routers.  His knowledge on the subject material is superb .

Mick, your time is appreciated, and your programming is worth every bit to use.  Thanks again and I hope to be in touch with you again in the near future.

Cheers!
